Dry Ice Blasting
Commercial and Industrial Cleaning
For businesses requiring powerful cleaning in sensitive or tightly controlled applications, dry ice blasting is an ideal solution. Whether the environment contains delicate machinery, food processing or live animals, dry ice blasting is safe and versatile for a multitude of industrial or commercial jobs.
How Does Dry Ice Blasting Work?
Tiny particles of dry ice (which is frozen CO2) are blasted at a high pressure from a specialized compressor. Upon impact with the surface, the CO2 immediately vaporizes, creating a tiny shock wave that quickly cools the top layer of the surface. The rapid change in surface temperature creates thermal stress which loosens the unwanted paint or contaminants, and the micro-shocks work with the compressed air to loosen and remove the material.
What Are the Benefits of Dry Ice Blasting?
Antibacterial: Dry ice blasting can effectively decontaminate food processing equipment from dangerous bacteria such as Listeria, E. coli and Salmonella.
Dry: Because the carbon dioxide vaporizes immediately, it can safely be used to clean sensitive electrical equipment and complex production equipment, including printing presses.
Variable: The power of the spray can be adjusted to clean delicate surfaces or to remove resilient contaminants. It can also clean complex machinery without disassembly.
Clean: Unlike sandblasting and sponge blasting, there is nothing to clean up after dry ice blasting. The material vaporizes, producing no mess or contaminants.
