Electrostatic Painting of Machinery Project in the Chicago Area

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

We know that in heavy manufacturing environments the machinery takes a beating.  We also know that your machinery is a major capital investment & without it, you really wouldn’t be able to produce anything.  So why not protect your investments with Painters USA’s machinery cleaning & painting services?

In the project highlighted in this blog, you can see the drastic change our client’s machinery underwent – from well-worn & showing its age to an updated, factory-like finish that will last for years to come!  By treating your expensive equipment with a little TLC (like a fresh coat of paint) you can more easily notice any fluid leaks or potential hazards that could threaten both the life of the apparatus and the safety of your employees.

Let’s dive a little deeper into what this electrostatic painting project involved:

Cleaning and painting of multiple machines throughout facility including 30 "Small", 30 "Medium", and 4 "Large" as defined by our client.

1.) Properly lean all surfaces that are to receive paint by hand using a combination of shop vacuuming, industrial degreaser (diluted) & industrial biodegradable degreaser (dependent on the contaminants to be removed), Scotch - Brite Non-Scratch pads, terry towels, and microfiber cloths. Leaving the paint applicable substrate clean and free of contaminants.

2.) Lightly sand by hand (no power sanding) to create profile for new coating

3.) Properly mask off all components not to receive paint

4.) Properly wipe all surfaces to receive paint with Xylene and microfiber cloths to remove any residual oils and prepare for paint application

5.) Properly apply 1-2 Coats JC Inviropoxy Perfection via Electro-Static Sprayer. Color to be black on bottoms and grey on tops per customers direction

6.) Properly remove all masking

The before & after transformation of these well-used machines is eye-popping!  Take a look for yourself in the slide show above – then contact Painters USA for your next machinery cleaning and/or painting project!
