About Us

Painters USA Introduces the Annual Derek Chambers Baseball Scholarship

As you may recall, in February 2018  we lost a beloved member of the Painters USA family to a car accident. Derek Chambers was the Senior Outside Sales Rep for our Dallas-Ft. Worth office, and an extremely valuable part of our team in numerous ways. Not only was he trusted, well-liked, and gifted in his work, but Derek also touched many people in his personal and professional life.

The passion with which he approached everything he did was an inspiration to us all.

Derek Chambers: Leaving a Legacy of Inspiration

In honor of Derek, Meg and Paul Cook have instituted an annual scholarship to a deserving student athlete on the Lamar High School baseball team in Arlington, TX.

Our hope is that this $2,500 scholarship will help an ambitious young man fulfill his college aspirations and secure a brighter future. And, that we’ll all celebrate and appreciate Derek every time the scholarship is awarded.

What kind of attributes will the recipient demonstrate?

We’re excited to announce that the inaugural recipient was Shaughn Kelly (pictured above with Paul and Meg Cook and Julie Chambers, Derek’s widow).

Shaughn, a leader by example, exemplifies the values we look for, and was voted to be the recipient by his coaches and teammates alike. We certainly wish him all the best!

If You’d Like to Contribute to the Scholarship Fund, Let Us Know!

We are opening the door to anyone else who would like to donate to this ongoing scholarship in Derek’s honor and memory. If you would be interested, please email Craig Nichols ([email protected]), or give Craig a call: (800)999-8715.

Thank you!
