Painting Farm and Ranch Buildings

If the Midwest has one thing in abundance apart from its beauty, it would be the farms and ranch buildings, or other structures like silos. Look out a window of an aircraft while flying over Illinois, Indiana and Iowa, or take a Sunday drive, and you'll see a vast landscape of farmland. That, of course, means there are plenty of buildings that might need some paint to protect against the elements.

The main idea when painting farm and ranch structures is to prevent corrosion, which is a matter of safety not only for food storage, for example, but for the safety of a farm's employees. Of course, in the process of painting a farm building, whether it's wood or metal, it should be made to look visually attractive. The color palette is usually simple—farmers aren't the type of people to draw attention to their buildings.

Another reason to apply new paint to a farm building or silo is to protect industrial equipment from corrosion. Farmers house very expensive equipment (tractors, grain elevators, etc.) in barns or metal buildings, and corrosion can pose a threat to that gear. On a similar note, grain elevators will need to be painted from time to time. Painters USA has experience with coating this equipment as well.

Another thing for farmers or large farm facility managers to think about is that concrete floors will need protection. How? Think of using epoxy floor coatings. It's the same idea as coating food processing plant floors: inhibit microbial growth and protect food. The coating will also make the floor easier to clean. Along those same lines, painting farm building interiors is also required to again inhibit microbial and other contaminant growth.

Painters USA also often paints silos. They are challenging structures, to be sure. Their height requires incredible skill and technique, not to mention following relevant safety procedures.
