Parking Garage Painting and Color Coding in Houston

Friday, April 28, 2017

Few things are more aggravating than not being able to find where you parked. And, what is a mild inconvenience in a normal parking lot turns into an impromptu mountain climbing expedition when you lose your car in a multi-level garage.

We’ve got the solution for that.

We recently were contacted by a global petroleum company in Houston and asked to provide painting and floor marking services in their nine-level parking garage. And yes, this included color-coding the different levels, making sure that staff and visitors can at least narrow their search to a specific color.

Painting Concrete and CMU Surfaces

The surfaces we painted included:

  • Columns
  • Underside of stair cases - This included sanding to achieve the proper profile and reduce the existing sheen, then applying two coats of Pre-Catalyzed Epoxy (semi-gloss)
  • Core concrete and CMU walls
  • Crosswalks

Because concrete can get a bit slippery when wet, we used anti-slip floor coatings for the crosswalks and entrances. This involved mixing a specialized aggregate into the paint product, Sherwin-Williams’ ArmorSeal.

The result is a bright, organized parking structure, and one we know is prepared to stand up to even the highest levels of traffic (both foot and vehicular).
