Structural Steel Painting at a Food Additive Manufacturer in Chicago

It was recently our pleasure to have been contacted for the 7th time by a food additive manufacturer located in the suburbs of Chicago. Our past 6 visits have involved providing quite a variety of services, from installing rodent runs around the interior perimeter of the facility to line striping, interior painting, and flooring services.

Painting Structural Steel with Eye-Catching Safety Orange

With both cleanliness and safety in mind, we were asked to totally transform the structural steel that supports their food additive tanks. The original dark blue needed to become a much more visible safety orange.

Here are the steps we took:

• As always, prep is key! We began by sanding the metal surfaces, creating a clean, receptive profile for the new paint to come.
• Next, we wiped the structures down with solvent, ensuring that no foreign debris would inhibit secure adhesion.
• Finally, we applied 2 coats of an industrial enamel in that ever-stylish safety orange.
